Some times you will encounter a zipper that is hard to open or close. I've learned that a little dab of sewing machine oil will make it glide much smoother. This will also work on other hardware that wont oprn or close right away. But remember that it should only be a small dab so it wont make the bag stained with oil.
Sometimes you can use candle wax instead of the oil too.
